if wilkins was to get the job then surely booker would've stayed.

it seems more likely that DK had someone already in mind and had spoken to them.
in their terms as a proviso they may have stated they want their own backroom staff which could explain booker going.

Quite possible but I honestly believe DK will go for the cheap option and give DW a chance, It was obvious when he was promoted to first team coach he was going to be given the chance at managing sooner or later.
