I would certainly have either McNulty or Tunnicliffe in the squad above the likes of Hart or Carole...
Without being nasty, it doesn't matter if Hart or Carole play between now and the end of the season, as they are highly unlikely to be here next season, whereas McNulty and Tunnicliffe probably will be, so it makes sense to have them playing regualary, rather than wasting away on the bench.

And would you suggest any of them should be playing here? I wouldn't. Shows the strength of our squad.

No, not at all. I'm just a bit confused as to why they're attracting attention from clubs higher than us, when they can't even get in our side. Although I would like McNulty and Tunnicliffe to stay next season.

Dare I say it, but it might suggest that we're playing at a level that wouldn't look out of place in the division above.

Bet he is gutted Charlton didn't come off, could have stayed at home. Now got to hotel it up there.
Hope him and Tunnicliffe return for pre-season

Well a LB and CB compared to a LW and RW isn't exactly fair.

I'd rather McNulty and Tunnicliffe who are clearly ones for the future get games than sit on our bench to be honest.

I understand that. But I would rather have a specialist left back on the bench than the likes of Carole or Hart who, if we are honest, could have their positions covered by others, like Holroyd etc.

I know Jimmy Mac was fairly keen on getting regular football, especially considering his lengthy lay off and lack of reserve outings. That said, Mr Poyet was reluctant to let him go - which didn't seem to make much sense considering he has hardly been picked for the bench, let alone the team.

Anyhow, I think a run of games will certainly benefit Jim and Painter is pretty much Mr Consistent, so winners all round.

He was second choice for Charlton but they got Borrowdale.

Just wants a regular game but still very much sees his future with us. I am not sure we can say the same for messrs Dickinson, Wright, Davies and Whing...

well hinted-at last week even if the wrong team :lolol:

Good move for all concerned. Hope he will get strongerin body and mind and come back ready for next year as it appears that we probably wont have Painter.

absolutely

I'd still break the bank for Painter though - real quality if he does become available

Is this the same Jimmy Mcnulty who was being touted on here as one of our best ever fullbacks just a little while ago ?

Yeah. But unfortunately, he's also the same Jimmy McNulty who had to undergo a major operation to remove a kidney, then endure a long, long recovery. One that arguably is still continuing- hence the loan move. Still a legend as far as I'm concerned!

Hard to believe a few months ago that Jimmy Mac could leave with so little protestation from the Brighton fans - and yet he has. Shows how far we have come already as a club under Gus.

No protests as its clear he is still is Gus's plans, and everyone on this board would agree on the fact that he needs games to get back to the levels he was at before that injury.

Good for him to get some games and come back fit and stong for pre-season.

I would still much rather have Painter at left back for next year though, with McNulty as cover. I really hope we can sort a deal out to bring him here permenantly.

Best of luck to him, he must have been thinking somebody had been sticking pins in a jimmy mac effigy since his arrival down here.
