We're being linked to a player who is a big strong center forward, and scored 18 goals in his last championship season, which was only 2010/11, hardly years ago.

Yet still people wouldn't want him here. It's staggering. Who on earth do these peope realistically think we're going to be signing.

I have no inside knowledge - this is based on rumours at the time we signed him. He was touted as an England international available with no transfer fee to pay and to be honest, with all the shenanigans going on at the time, we were desperate to sign him.

Put it into context - I know of one player on around the £20-25k mark when we were in the Championship, Taarabt widely reported to be unhappy with his £25k once we got promoted and Rob Hulse reported to have doubled his wages when we went up. It could be bollocks but it could be right.
