The chap who gave the presentation yesterday - a young Brian Horton look-a-like, said that the average Premiership attendance is 33,000.
When Falmer is fully fitted, it will hold 33,000!

I was also told that, as they cost around £1.6million, the club could only afford/ were willing to splash out, for one large screen at the stadium.

Could you shed any light on this?

My only concern are those three giant electric plug sockets and switch on the pitch in the first picture...Surely those will electricute the linesman and any subs warming up?

Just far enough away from LDC
What is that large black edifice that seems to be sticking out of the right hand end stand, above the spectators.???
That's Charlie Oatway's Cryogenics chamber where he breathes pure Nitrogen at half time

I assume it is the Press Box.

It might be the control box where the stewards will be able to watch from above to ensure no standing in the north stand. If anyone does they'll be dragged helicoptor-esque into the box and forced to listen to a rousing chorus of 'size 16, you're having a larf'

I have just discovered that some Norwich fans have infiltrated the home section.

THE PROJECT
In May 2006, Mitsubishi Electric installed a second 38m² Diamond Vision
system into the stadium of Dutch premier league football club, Sportclub
Heerenveen. The second system, installed in the recently refurbished North
stand of the 26,000 capacity stadium, follows the success of the first screen
installed in 2005. After Ajax and PSV, Heerenveen is the only the third club
in Dutch professional football to have giant-size video screens installed in its
stadium. Heerenveen was the first Diamond Vision stadium installation in the
Netherlands
THE SOLUTION
The two screens are Diamond Vision AVL-OD12 screens with 12mm Dot
Pitch, wide viewing angles and a brightness of 5000 Nits. Mitsubishi's unique
Dynamic Pixel Technology and Digital Colour Space Conversion combined
with the 12mm dot pitch gives superb image quality, and Diamond Vision's
legendary reliability ensures low cost of ownership. Mitsubishi's engineering
team worked closely with the resident architects and stadium owners to
design the custom housing and support structure that allows the OD12 to be
suspended directly from the roof. “The advantage of the Mitsubishi LED
screens,” explains Diamond Vision's Cees-Jan Faber, ”Is not just their high
quality, but also the relatively low weight. That is an important factor when
mounting such a large screen to the roof.”
“We received several proposals and eventually made our decision in favour
of Diamond Vision”, says Henk Hoekstra of Sportclub Heerenveen. “With
these screens,” he continues, ”Visitors not only have an excellent view of all
the action as it is happening but also the latest information. These screens
allow us to further improve our service to our visitors”.
Cees-Jan Faber adds: “Along with the screens, we have also developed
specialist software for use in football stadiums. This software allows to show
information and entertainment together with live coverage of the match

We did try these out yesterday.
Someone may correct me, but I think these are the "Gold" ones, whilst the "Platinum" ones have arm rests.
Why you need arm rests when we'll be clapping all those goals, and the frequent moments of skill for most of the time beats me, but I suppose they will ache after a while, so you rest your weary arms on the rests?

The armrests are to place your plate of prawn sandwiches on whilst trying to remember the player's names from the programme (foldup tray perhaps).
Do the rests have little holes to place your cup of Kenko in?

Agree - can't understand why such a big gap. It's a real shame as rest of the stadium will look superb. Get the thing built then apply for planning permission to do the corners?

i guess thats where the big screen will be?
