It should have an RJ45 socket at the back. You will most probably need to goto the playstation website to get a setup disc and online account. This will be posted to you.

You will need to connect it to a Router...

Please don't ask me any more questions, the only PS2 I owned was a model 55SX and it wasn't made by Sony!

No you don't need it. Just plug the ethernet into the back and hook it up to your router.
