Superb decision.

Starting next season with -30 points pretty much rules out promotion! So they may as well have gone down to Serie C, as it will be 2 years before Juve are back, and at least 3 before they are in the Champions League again.

And in English?

Juve will play next season in Serie B, starting on -30 points. They have been stripped of the last two league titles and will therefore NOT be in next years Champions League.

JUVE, LAZIO AND FIORENTINA RELEGATED
Juventus, Lazio, and Fiorentina have been relegated from Serie A as a result
of the match-fixing scandal.
AC Milan have avoided relegation, but will start next season with a 15-point
deficit, and have had 44 points taken from their tally for the 2005-06 season.
Juventus have been stripped of their Serie A titles for each of the last two
seasons. They will start next campaign with a 30-point deficit.
Fiorentina will start in Serie B with a 12-point deficit and Lazio a
seven-point deficit.

Juventus:- relegated into Serie B with a 30 points penalty; last place in 2005-2006; their title revoked.

Milan:- no place in Europe because of a penalty of 44 points applied to the 2005-2006 championship; they will start with a 15 points penalty.

Fiorentina:- relegated to Serie B with a 12 points penalty.

Lazio:- relegated to Serie B with a 7 points penalty.

There is a conspiracy theory rather comically doing the rounds that the corruption judges are only doing this because they are Roma fans.

Not only Roma but Milan too. Scandel in a scandel with Berlisconi(sp) involved at the heart of it? ???

Come to think of it, it's only just dawning on me just how superb a decision this is in relation to Juve. I initially thought it could have been worse for them with direct relegation to Serie C. But actually Serie B and -30pts is conceivably a worse punishment in two ways.

First, Juve in C would probably have led to back-to-back championships and an undeserved procession of glory back to A in two years. But, in fact, next season they will now spend a considerable period of the season, perhaps the entire first half, rooted where they belong - at the foot of a league table propping up the rest of the teams.

Secondly, a team was relegated from B this year with 46pts. So Juve may actually have to get 76pts next season to avoid a further humilation of relegation to Serie C. 81pts won the B title last season, 76pts was 3rd in the league table. Now I expect Juve probably will get enough points, but imagine if Deschamps has a slump for a period due to gelling in his new team, the pressure will be incredible. And let's face it, the Serie B refs if they want to retain any credibility surely won't be going to be seen to be doing them any favours.

It actually sets up a fascinating season for Juve lovers and haters alike, they are going to have to jog along at virtually 2pts a game or be in the shit :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
