Noticed for the first time this morning that it wasn’t light when I got up, and also it was dark lat night by 8 pm.

Mad isn't it? It seems to happen about this time, EVERY year.

Try opening your eyes when you get out of bed, and once open keep them open until way after 9pm, that way it stays lighter for longer.

Have you noticed also as you get older, it seems come around quicker.
As a kid summer lasted ages.

That is completely the fault off the FA.
Think about it - Footy used to end in May and begin in September making summer 5 months.
Now the footy break lasts about 2 weeks. And so does summer.
