I believe that was Notts County in 1861 before they had anyone to play...

It's a post-war record(which war though i am unsure of, maybe the Falklands, or was that a conflict? is there s a difference?)

It says 9 in Wikipedia, it is obviously wrong. There cannot be more than 4 Saturdays in a non-leap year Feb. Why would any team play more than two league games a week in February??

Nice time to play 8 of the bottom 10 teams in the League.

Thats what you call making hay while the sun shines.

Is it not possible to have 3 games in a week if one of the Saturdays was on a Sunday or a Friday night instead?

Anyway, seems like this is our records by virtue of the fact that you now get 3 points for a win rather than being the best month's performance ever. Still bloody impressive though!

Why would any team be made to play three games in a week in Feb when they have the rest of the season to play postponed matches? According to Soccerbase they only played 8.

Great work Turkey, not a detective by any chance. Basically the caller from Rotherham has completed mugged himself. When I posed the question to Alan Green I had a feeling that he didn't even know where the City of Brighton & Hove was. Now ask him which boot Rio Ferdinand puts on first he could keep the topic going for hours.

How does that old saying go? Oh yes:

"30 days hath September,
April, June and November.
All the rest have 31.
Except for February 1982 alone.
Which had 34.
In Yorkshire.
Apparently."
