Is it time to end Daylight Saving Time?

It’s time to stick with daylight saving time … move them forward and leave them there

Keep as is,

Leave GMT all year round = sun rises in Summer around 4am which means light at 3.30am
Move to BST and leave permanently = Very late sunrises in winter and 10 pm sunsets in the summer

I’m probably as far west as Brighton from the Meridian longitude but in a different time zone. I blame Napoleon! Never understood the “Daylight saving” thing. The days are the same length whatever you do.

Why blame Napoleon? We don't use the defunct Paris meridian.

nothing to do with Napoleon, didnt even have standard time then. it came in during WWI to save energy by staying light longer in the evening during summer, while keeping morning light sensible in the winter months.

BST in the winter would be shit, sunrise only around 9am in December, GMT in summer would mean getting dark at 8pm in June, 7pm in mid August. if we stopped, everyone would be moaning in a year to reinstate it. in fact we did stop, did moan and it was reintstated.
