He'll be gone by this time next year, probably by Christmas in fact.

If he fucks up early then he deserves to go.Even with a new manager in charge he will have to work with kids and have bugger all budget.A tough job for any new man in charge. If he does go then i can see Wilkings filling his boots. He is warming up to take over or at least given a shot at it

Sadly, all those who want McGhee out seem to think there will be a long queue of famous ex managers of other clubs wanting the job at the club with no ground and no money (and no immediate way of getting either).

Ex managers tend to have the ex for a reason, most often for failure, and therefore have a bit of a millstone before they start.Only the pressing need for work would make them apply for the job with few prospects, and the list would contain a clutch of lower league regulars, first timers, and perhaps second or third in commanders from elsewhere.

No big name,no miracle workers.Even Sven seems to be going to Real Madrid.

And most of them could probably do a better job than McGhee.
Did we not have several good managers before we got McGhee? And their were others in the running when we got him.
Saying McGhee should stay because we wouldn't get anyone better is ridiculous.

So wasn't McGhee a ex manager before he joined us?

How can you be so sure they would have done a better job?
With no finance to bring in players and being made to sell 4 top players, I am not sure who could have coped with that.

So Magoo hadn't just left Millwall when he came to us then?

I did say sadly, should you not have noticed, and in your reply it's the "probably" that bothers me.All managers are pretty much a shot in the dark, especially at the level we are at.

Many people argue that it is best to go for long term stability, and not many were saying "sack McGoo" when we won at Cardiff. So,one promotion,an unlikely survival season and a relegation.

Perhaps the surprise is that the current manager WANTS to stay, whereas many of our recent supremos have WANTED to go.

Me? I'd rather the devil we know, unless and until the job falls vacant.Adie Boothroyd should need a job by then.

Even Lincoln got over 100 applicants... and it will be Wendy's job when MM goes anyway...
