Add to that an attacking central midfielder and I'd be more than happy. Unless Buckley assumes that role, directly replacing Bennett, or Caskey makes the step up, though I don't think we should put too much pressure on him to make the first team too soon.

A good first 11 can be put out but my worry is depth. We were very lucky with injuries last season. If we get a few injuries to key players the squad starts to look very thin certainly in terms of real quality. A few positions are covered by quality but not enough IMO. Apart from a few big signings I would like to see us add a few more numbers as back up.

Even if we get CMS, I think there may be another out and out striker to come. Heard from a well-informed friend that Bergkamp is still very much one for the future which would suggest we're still potentially light up front.

Plausible, I can imagine 3 or 4 biggish names all being told the others are close to signing, and then if one signs they are all convinced. Of course i can also imagine that this whole CMS rumour is from some spotty 13 year old troll, sitting in a smelly bedroom, skinning his sausage over all the excitement.

The only thing that is making me wonder if this is true is Poyets comments in the argus, first saying that he hadn't given up and the second saying that has anyone said our bid has been turned down.

Woods instead of Navarro if you're assuming 'all goes our way today'. He's the most realistic although hopefully Lua Lua and either CMS or a top striker will come in sometime this month.

Then indeed do only need defenders in my opinion (Gus says happy with keepers despite being our weakest position in my opinion, just cos got depth, doesn't mean don't need to improve!)
