It all depends on whether Argyle's new "consultant", Peter Ridsdale, has the experience to ensure that a football club can survive going bust and re-emerge unscathed afterwards.

Does anyone know anything about his track record?

Four points and three games clear of third place isn't too different from where we're at now (7 points and two games clear of third)

EDIT: (games played was originally wrong. I've tried to change the image, but that may take a little while to appear, if it still lists us as having played 29 the image hasn't updated yet).

Acker, yours has different figures to the first?

Ignore the played column for a moment. I made a booboo.

I've corrected the picture on my pb, it should change in the last post, but may take a while to register the updated image.

Updated to take account of this afternoon's games

This is a new addition to my stats keeping and I'm still not in the habit of updating it all properly. I forgot to account for Colchester today. Fortunately it doesn't really change the table except their gd should be -1 and they would be on 30 games.

Am I right in thinking there was a non-league team who went bust a few seasons ago, and incredibly the decision was that their results to date stood.

I hope that's not the case, should plymouth go bust, because I put a lot of effort into sorting out that table (I know it doesn't look it, but I've set up excel to make the table automatically when I update it each week).

Here we go. I think I've sorted it properly. This is the table if teams get awarded 3pts for unplayed games v plymouth:
