Thanks Starry.

just had my sandwiches , a banana and an apple...feeling better already:)

BTW great avatar. I once spend a very pleasant journey from Hudds to London sat opposite the great Don Revie chatting about footy and also the England job he was in at the time. really charming bloke.

Aww, that is really great.

Aside from the dodgy video tapes and dvds the only time I ever saw him in person was in his motorised wheelchair at the testimonial in 1988. :(

The supporters group are just buying a bust of him. There'll be him on one side and Charles on the other at the Elland Road entrance.

But at least they have proper fights not spend the whole game getting more and more wound up and then giving someone a sly little kick or slap when they arent looking! Then they buy each other a beer afterwards and forget about it!
Good point, well made.

I love both games. I go and watch Brighton play down at Waterhall if I cant make the Brighton away game. Good rugby, cheap beer.

apologies for Hijacking thread.

Get some tomato juice down you. Rich in vitamins and should make you feel much better.

Sod Brighton. Worthing’s where it’s at for rugby.

Also struggling after yesterday - the bacon sarnie machine is about to take a beating...

Dave - did you see the workers in the South stand site? One of them tried to launch the ball at the posts to return it to the game... cue airshot, comedy slip and much pointing and laughing....
Hopefully they got that on camera for the Soccer am all sports show!

Not to the extent we've seen in football, but "the hooligan element" is creeping into rugby league. Hull are always rumbling with other fans and if they don't put up, they rumble with themselves. I've noticed at Headingley the more popular the sport is becomming the more, uh, not so savoury characters are tagging along.

There have been several pre arranged crew meet ups at league games.

edit - sorry about hte hangover Dave, as was said above, water is the way forward. And try to eat something.

When I used to go to Rugby League in the late 80's there used to be regular kick offs between:

Leeds- Wigan
Leeds- Widnes
Any Yorkshire side playing againgst a Nottinghamshire side
Castleford- Featherstone. Always a classic over XMAS. Basically Featherstone were peeved that Castleford went back to work during the miners strike. Both sides contained players that still worked down "pit" or had relatives in mining.
Going back to a Wakefield- Leeds game in the 90's it also kicked off in a pub before the game.

Nevertheless, fans were not segregated. I felt totally safe (apart from at Widnes), even with the only southern accent in the grounds.

At half time, fans used to walk around to the other end, going pass, through the other supporters. Imagine that with Brighton and Palace.

I thought it was very funny but was met with looks of distain from people around me..LOL ( I was wearing my Brighton hat BTW) - nothing to do with me being trolley'd either

We were sat in block 11 next to where the new stand is being built. to the right of the players entrance.

Is this the geezer that built a team of thugs and then walked out of the England job for a load of Arab cash? Not the sort of bloke I would be commemerating.

And that's why you're not a Leeds fan.

The very same man. I'm not English, he did a grand job ditching England.

I reckon I was directly opposite you then... the whole game seemed to be played on your side of the pitch!

Good turnout - 38,000.
