Brighton & Hove Albion a club on the up. Far better equipped for an assault on the Championship than last year even if we may still not have a team to win it I'm very happy with the squad as whole now & it may be one more face in the January window to swing it.

Why's that because I talk the truth....how can anyone on this site make a case for not getting what our manager has said we have been after for over a year?..all of the players we have signed today are...............nothing more to say.

The truth as you see it. There are possible loan signings to come. The team is what matters not ONE player.

The majority seem really happy with the transfers today in general, so if that's the case, WHO was maybe rumoured, or possibly expected that DIDN'T HAPPEN (so far) ? ?

Rubbish is a bit strong but certainly tarnished an otherwise excellent summer of signings. He thought he was too big for us then. Will need to make a big impression to win me over.

Was that when he went to Colchester saying he was pleased to be joining a bigger club?

He's an Albion player again but I wish he'd stayed where he was.

What I love about the business we have done is none of the players were mentioned on here in the way Bothroyd, Murray and the other 84,000 were. Everyone was assuring us of the latest Beckford coming here and we ended up with 4 players unmentioned last week. Long live the bullshit here eh? But now 99 out of 100 oh here are well over the moon about our business yesterday/today. Personally very happy to lose one good player for four experienced players at this level and higher and three I believe at no cost to our transfer budget, so perhaps money in the kitty for January. Plus we still have CMS. We look physically stronger with better players and more in depth to handle our poor suspension level and sick notes. The season looks very bright right now.

I am very happy really, when you look at all the players signed over this summer, it's pretty impressive. The best piece of business could be keeping CMS. Only downside is Hammond, but we'll have to wait and see.

I wonder if Mr Noone thinks we are still not as well equipped as Cardiff now?

I've always felt we've struggled to replace Bennett's buzzy presence sliding balls through for strikers - he set a lot up for Murray and him and CMS would have been electric together. Orlandi and Lopez both sound like those sort of players, and Dobbie has a bit of George Boyd about him so it could be like signing two strikers if we now get CMS playing like we know he can. Not sure Gus' "presence" ever meant a big man, just some others troubled the oppo defence and getting up to support CMS. And any fool can see we needed a bit more muscle and bite in midfield to provide a platform for all the flairniacs, and Crofts and Hammond definitely do that - so all in all, I'm delighted!!

Last year our summer signings were from
Peterborough (League 1/Championship)
Bristol Rovers (League 1)
Watford (Championship)

This year they have been from:
Manchester United (Prem)
Manchester City (Prem)
Valencia (La Liga)
Athletic Bilbao (La Liga)
Swansea (Prem)
Norwich (Prem)
Southampton (Prem)

I would have taken that at the start of the summer. If people want a big six foot striker they will be disappointed, but after seeing Painter and Vokes last season in that role I won't miss it a huge amount.

So many deluded people over Hammond signing, what he did is wrong, but who cares, it's water under the bridge and he is back in the blue and white.
