I have a vague recollection the figure may have been posted before, but can't find it. If it hasn't been posted before, is this the sort of information that can be requested from LDC under the FOI Act?

Not sure in total, but the latest round of transport consultancies (their last lot were a complete f***-up, thereby wasting more money) came to about £36,000.

I cannot understand why you people harp on and on about LDC spending money fighting the Albion`s wish for a ground at Falmer.

It must be apparent to any right minded person that Falmer is the wrong site and that LDC are only representing the majority of folk in their area who are against or have no interest one way or another in the stadium.

As it encroaches on their land surely people on here can see that they have every right to be carrying on the way they are.

There must be alternative sites. . . . there just must be.

.....Spending on consultants by councils across Sussex increased to more than £22.2 million last year.

But Lewes District Council's bill fell from more than £300,000 in 2004-05, to just £13,000 last year.

Council leader Ann de Vecchi said the amounts councils spent could vary according to the type of projects carried out.

She said in previous years work towards a housing stock transfer ballot in Lewes had been particularly expensive.

She said: "It can be the case that you're just not big enough to have in-house specialists to do the work.

"There are so many areas of specialist work and requirements from central government where you are, to some extent, compelled to employ consultants to give you advice."
