No it's because he was willing to practically donate his "large income" to a struggling football club. Don't think you would get many folk willing to do that

If you support that club and have that amount of disposable income I would imagine many would be happy to loan the club the money interest free.

You don't get that rich by not being shrewd. I'm sure he sees it as an investment rather than any form of donation.

Donation may be the wrong word, but as you say Bloom is very shrewd, hence why I think he knows pumping money into a football club is a risk that may not ever be paid back.
