Usually poor, but today i thought he was one of the best players today, won every tackle, covered a lot of ground, and when recieved the ball just laid it off simply to initiate attacks.

What a player!!

Still not the best option, in the middle of midfield. But he didn't put a foot wrong all match, his passing was ok. His heading has improved, still alittle Toberone through.

well ok, perhaps we do need one, but if he can keep playing at that standard why replace him?

Crewe were a very poor side, a better side will ruin our midfield with El-Abd in there. We need someone else, who can give better service to Murray and Forster.

He has played there before, and played well, bit mroe experience there and could become v.good. Perhaps.

He was average today compared to every other midfielder in the division, but did well considering he's a defender out of position. If anyone thinks we're going to get anywhere even close to the play-offs with El Abd in midfield, they're deranged. We need a replacement before the five vital home games we have coming up.

Tom I agree with you. Hopefully we'll get someone in during the loan window.

I don't think that Crewe are generally as poor as they looked today. I thought that we were well up for it, well organised and largely negated them. That's why they were inferior. I liked Thomson pushing up on them to close them down and thought that El Abd did just about everything right. Minor negatives for me were Richards' distribution, Kuipers' dithering and Robinson's lack of penetration. Team selection next week could be interesting.

If we're serious about the play-offs, we need to win four out of the next five home games.
