Our cat came from a house stinking of piss in Perry Barr and the daughter was called Sam so we called him Sam.

He's just tried to steal Mini Huts chicken nugget and he's not happy

Ack, we have a whole host of pets.

Horses -
Disney - came with the name.
Peaches - She is palomino and kinda peach-ish in colour, so Peaches she is.
Smokey - He's iron grey and Smokey just fits.
Topper - Starry Jnr choose that name.

Dogs
Billy - after the great man himself.
Maisy - after Maisy the Mouse TV show.
Strike - she is a border collie and has a white marking that looks like a lightening strike.

Sheep
Chop and Minty - As in lamb chop and mint sauce. The husbands choice.

The goat is called Oscar, not sure why I think that was husbands choice.

Three pigs -
Smudge - Starry Jnr the oldest versions choice, taken from a cartoon.
Buttons - Starry Jnr the middle versions choice, after the chocolate sweets
Dipsy - Starry Jnr the youngest versions choice, from the Teletubbies.

My dog (female) is named Bernard after nursey in Blackadder. She's 10 years old now and still people call her a good boy because the name confuses them!

Fanny (goldfish) when I was 7, no idea where that came from.

George (cat) when I was 9, named after George Best, because he liked to dribble a ball as a kitten.

Mavis and Rita (2 finches); when I was 30, Coronation street obviously

On Rita's death, we brought in Derek, a fine male finch who proceeded to peck Mavis to death. Derek lived on well past his alloted span. in solitary confinement, before going literally toes up as he fell spectacularly from his perch one night

Tommy (cat) when I was 38, named by my daughter after Tommy Pickles from Rugrats.

On NSC for over two decades...
My family has two cats, Simone is named after our old cat Simon (named by an Aunt who said "he looks like a Simon"), and the big fella is called Carter because the name the rescue place gave him, Maurice, really didn't suit him.

See if you can guess how I arrived at Carter. No prizes will be given for correct answers.

Billy Bremner.

Our house is big enough for me, Mr Starry three Starry juniors and three dogs to live happily.

The horses, pigs, goat and sheep live on my sisters farm/livery yard.
