Well, personally, I was saddened to see Jose Luis Chilavert miss out on the job, despite possessing the best CV of any candidate. He could have been assisted by Cobi Jones, and surely taken the Red, Blue, and White to world cup glory in 2010. It's racism at it's very worst as far as I'm concerned.

i can understand why cobi wasnt interested - he is the record cap holder for team usa after all, and as such may not have wanted to risk tarring his reputation by taking the pressures of management

i would have been more inclined to go for someone like peter beardsley, due to his vast knowledge of the north american game
