Hot Debate - Primate testing

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
Primate experiments and medical research.

What is your view on this?

I watched a program the other night on the Bonobo's, who are meant to be our closest relatives yet. Scientific research is very important, but I can't justify testing on primates, who are our closest and most intelligent relatives.

I had a bit of a row with one of those Socialist Workers the other day. I signed a form to protest against Primate testing, but not the form to outlaw fox hunting.

Restrict drugs testing so that it can only be carried out on animal rights protestors. That way, everyone's happy.

The protestors achieve their objective, scientists achieve theirs, and the rest of the population doesn't have to put up with the stinking f***ing drop-outs polluting town centres.

Do soft dogs smoke soft fags in labs? Are poodles puffing away Silk Cut, retrievers on B+H (maybe they like the gold), Rottweilers on Superkings?

If my dad could of been saved by a drug developed by testing, I would certainly of used it. I don't agree with beauty products and aftershaves etc being tested on animals, but do agree with the medical side of things.

Slightly o/t
Also being half Polish and having been to Auschvitz, it is really difficult for me to say this, but a lot a medical practices used today, are those developed in the concentration camps over 50 years ago

I find it a very difficult subject to approach. I guess in personal circumstances you would do anything to save a loved one.

I read something about the Auschwitz tested products being used today. Again very difficult to shun them due to their origin.

You know there's an animal testing lab at Sussex Uni?

Someone pointed it out to me once and at first I refused to believe it but when you look at the building it does have no windows, an overhanging roof that's difficult to climb onto, and a lot of security.

I told a student friend of mine about it and she went mad, she knew nothing about it all the time she was there!

Think this issue is so grey, there is hardly any balck and white, it's not like you can choose a side and stick to it. As you hear more and more from pro's and con's would imagine people would be changing their minds all the time.

Just so long as it's the middle 5, was never much taken on the first 5 as a chrsitian name, or just kaz, as is my nickname. That sentence was not talking sense at, just inane dribble, but kaz is the way forward
