Who thought there would ever be a female PM?
Who thought there would be a black President?
Who thought there would be a green council?

Jobs far more difficult and important than that of a football coach?

Brighton is supposed to be an open minded kind of place.
A leader in the Avant Garde.
A city that leads not follows.
Yet suggest a gay, black female football coach for its football team and it turns into Fascistville.

No. Management is as much about understanding and working with personalities as football knowledge and coaching badges. Men and women are from different planets: men understand men; women understand women.

I personally believe that it is mistake to have appointed a bloke as the new manager of the England women's team. Appointing a women as manager of 30 blokes would be a disaster.

Experience of what?
Being relegated?
What experience had Alan Mullery had of managing a football team of ANY gender before BHA?
What if she kept us up?
What a groundbreaking appointment it would be seen to have been.

do behave, you're fishing. Hope Powell has no relevant experience, she is experienced in delivering nothing, she is experienced in failure, so why not pick another non league manager who has failed and suggest them, or someone else who may seem as en vogue and suggest them?

is it because shes gay (who gives a shit) or female (who gives a shit) or a CBE (who gives a shit) or all 3 that you overlook her crap record and lack of relevant job experience?

so you think positive discrimination is whats needed to elevate a candidate who's not even in the top 100 most suitable, based on nothing more than gender or sexual preference and not ability?

great idea for a multi-million pound business, cool man, in the city that voted green, she maybe shit and a failure, but who cares shes gay, how groundbreaking.

vegetarian applicants only..........

However......
A man HAS been appointed as manager of the England Ladies team?

So it is possible for men and women to work in tandem in sport.
Or even in life generally.

Anybody male on here got a female boss?

I know a man has, and I think that it's a mistake.

I suspect that some may not want her for one or all of those reasons but most wouldn't want to take the gamble specifically because it would be a huge gamble and not something a club in the bottom three should be doing.

Forget all the other stuff. She did an average job as England manager,if she'd done a brilliant job, she'd be being linked to a lot of jobs in the mens' game.I've never seen her mentioned before in relation to a vacant manager post.

Mr Bloom is a well known gambler.
It may be what is needed.

Yet its this kind of stupid socialist bollocks thinking that makes you look stupid.

It has nothing to do with Hope being a her, or black or gay, it is to do with the fact, she has no experience of managing men or in the football league, and that in her last job at a lot lower level she was a failure.

Yet you ignore all that and you think she should be employed only because she's black and/or gay, and anyone who doesn't must be a fascist.

I'm sure Bloom will not be blinded by leftist nonsense to overlook relevant experience or success and will base his choice on more than gender, race or sexual preference.

Heil Hope....... No Hope

So nobody has a female boss?

How do we feel about female officials in mens football?
It is already happening and many are really good.

Women are about to be upgraded to combat troops in the Army.

Women constantly prove that they can do any job a man can.
Yet still no professional female manager in the male dominated football world.

I see female fans on the terraces.
I see female football presenters.
I see female officials.
I see female directors.

Why not a manager?

Whilst I'm not averse to a female manager in the future, I really don't think she is what is required right now, partly due to her relatively average record and partly due to us needing someone with experience to get us out of the mess we're in.
