Up and coming young starlet, Henry Surtees, the son of 1964 Formula 1 world champion John Surtees, has died following an accident in a Formula 2 race at Brands Hatch on Sunday.

During the second of the weekend's races, the 18-year-old was struck on the head by a wheel and tyre from the car of Jack Clarke, who had spun into the wall exiting Westfield Bend.

A freak accident, thoughts to the family, RIP.

I can't believe it his father the great John Surtees was talking on the radio on Saturday about him and he was asked if he was worried for his son safety.

RIP.

Saw a clip of the accident on youtube, complete freak accident, I doubt he even saw the wheel coming. Couple of feet or even inches either side and he'd have been fine.

A very sad loss. RIP.

Desperately unlucky, just watched it on youtube, when you see some of the accidents drivers walk away from, somethings however they cannot be protected from.

RIP
