Help required with MSN Messenger

I've recently installed Messenger 6.1 after upgrading my PC. However, whenever I connect to the internet now I also automatically sign in to Messenger. This can be annoying because I don't always want to sign in, and before I know it I've got people talking to me.

I've tried unistalling and reinstalling but there's been no change. For some reason it seems that the PC has remembered my sign-in information, because from the Messenger icon I only have to click on 'Sign in as *********@hotmail.com' and it signs in with no request for a password.

It's annoying, and if anyone techies can help then that would be cool.

This might help. Go to Tools - Options then you should see this:

You must be able to right click the icon at the bottom right of the screen (system tray) and disable it from there?

i made a fake account incase it does that with no contacts in it. but my bro has now downloaded another version and it dosent do it so problem solved!

have it set to appear offline. that way you can still see other friends signing in and talk if YOU like to.
