Do/did people really do that?

I've never been one to follow the crowd and get caught up in all the hype, I'm due a new handset, my missus has just got the new iPhone, I've had a play with it, its her first iPhone, she loves it, I'm not completely won over by it, it feels too light and fragile to me, I'm tempted, but I can't justify spending over £500 on a phone.

Don't get me wrong, I'm tempted but something is stopping me, and videos like this don't help me make the plunge.
