The best bit of the post was summing up everything said in many posts on here and that is the home supporters were already getting on the players back so 3 points were almost guaranteed. When will a lot of home supporters realise that getting behind the team is much more helpful ( no matter how woeful they are ) than getting on their backs from kick off.

It was noticeable on both the radio and TV yesterday that the commentators were full of praise for the Stoke fans in getting behind their team and making lots of noise to encourage Stoke to beat the world's giddiest team with only ten men.

One of the highlights of the day for me yesterday was Hartlepool making a substitution, cue the usual silence from the home support and the (barely audible) applause from the away following. Just after the announcement from the PA system was made, someone shouted out from the South stand 'MONKEY HANGER' and I heard it clearly from the Family Stand
