Aren't there cases of paperwork taking time to clear and being announced after windows closed. Is it possible this loan occurred in the january window, but they have only announced it now after paperwork and clearances (visa?) have gone through?

I still don't understand how that happened...he was on loan, and we all hoped we'd sign him on a permanent when the window opened - and we signed him on a permanent before it opened. Why were we allowed to do this?

We agreed a deal to sign him on a permanent when he was on loan with us. The permanent transfer didn't happen until 1st January.
