And this is the problem with the over commercialisation of Easter.

So this year; once you’ve found your rhythm, once your tongue is hanging out with your eyes crossed and the mouth producing a low, steady and consistent
hum-like groan. Switch off your normal wankbank content and think of the Christ. Hanging resplendent on his bondage climbing frame and naked ‘cept for his giant fetish nappy. He glances over at you, there is a wink, a dart like flick of the tongue and then pop, your Easter work is done.
Excellent post for the BDSM and LGBTQ+ communities

Just not necessary

Not as much as it used to do (as a kid I'd be singing some wonderful music in my local churdh choir - and yes, I enjoyed the chocfest too), now maybe not as much as it should do. Not just about religion - but it used to be an event.

Everything's more magical when you're a child though. You get to really believe in crazy, unrealistic madness like an actual bunny hiding chocolate everywhere just for you to find. When cynicism hasn't taken over the imagination.

Then you get to be an adult and all there's left to believe in is an invisible man in the sky bringing dead people back to life.

Not everything in life has to be necessary. Throw cushions, for example.

You're right Clampy and in truth you'll be studying the curves of the Sex Goddess Eostre, the real Easter celebration of Spring.

I just don’t think people would show such disrespect to other religions. In fact some would be the first to object if that type of vulgarity were used about festivals of other traditions. I’m not a Christian but I have manners and social skills and respect the beliefs of those people that do have a faith.

Not a huge amount other than some relaxing time with friends . Some of my friends celebrating Passover so it’s a double party time .

Used to be 2 days paid leave but then 16 years ago I went contracting so it was 2 days unbillable time.
Now I'm retired it's just another weekend - with added chocolate!

Fair play. I don’t really take offence at such things.

That simply is not true.

Anyway, roast lamb, chocolate and wine for me today. Rude not to.

Good spot regarding the online advertising. Proves the point made by the manufacturers. If they don't put the word 'Easter' on the packaging (which is what I meant, but didn't make clear), they can sell them all around the world, all year round, for whatever festival they like, in this case Easter. Oddly, they are still called Easter Eggs in gaming I believe.

As an atheist it has no religious significance but the long weekend is always welcome. My wife's family are Cypriots and for them Greek Easter (which is next weekend this year) is a big deal and for me it means some seriously nice food..
