Handcross Hill.. 3 years of roadworks.. Does it affect you?

Two lanes to be kept open in each direction with 40mph speed restrictions and average speed cameras during construction (further lane restrictions may be installed overnight for specific operations).
Well seeing the inside lane was coned off at 5,00pm today seems to be a load of bollocks!

Manhole cover damaged so they needed to do emergency repairs which required them to cone off one lane

If that's the case then fair enough but I'd like to think once they'd fixed the manhole they'd remove cones ASAP to clear the 3m tailback, but there was not one worker.

Is it very slow going through this in the morning?,don't know if it has driven people to use the A 24 but i am sure Washington roundabout has got even busier lately.There are actually 2 police cars sitting there now some mornings waiting to nick people who cut through Washington village by using the Bus only route.One copper obviously couldn't handle the back log of law breakers!
