Pakistan spin wizard Mushtaq Ahmed ripped through Hampshire with 7-64 to inspire Sussex to a 94-run victory.

The wily veteran ended a defiant stand of 67 between Michael Carberry and Dominic Thorneley, as the home side slid from 144-3 to 211 all out.

Earlier, Sussex lost skipper Chris Adams, who did not add to his overnight 31, but Robin Martin-Jenkins ensured they would set a tough target of 306.

The all-rounder struck a commanding 91 before he was caught by Carberry.

Just got back from the ROSE BOWL - Mushy is a KING amongst men. He single handedly won that game today. None of the other bowlers looked like taking a wicket, and once it got to about 140-3 I started to fancy Hampshire.
