It was 'improper conduct' so obviously he was found guilty but the fact the referee got it completely wrong and gus completely right probably has quite a lot to do with the fact he got off with a warning

I'm sure the referee's assessor and the video both indicated that the referee was a right twonk.

The FA has to be seen to be doing something, so Gus had his hand smacked and told next time you do it, don't do it again.
