I was told that the reason they bought out the Extra Cold was because of diminishing sales. Old coggers like me drunk Guinness at room temperature but the younger generation like cold beer and had they not changed their serving methods in 20 years time they would have had nobody hardly drinking it
Alright people Guinness extra cold is a marketing ploy to sell to English idiots. The lower temperature kills the flavour. This incidentally is why you drink red wine at room temperature and don't chill bitters.
As I've said before Guinness axtra cold is only suitable as a training stout. As soon as you can appreciate the flavour of guinness at a proper temperature kick extra cold to touch.
Anyway I prefer Young Chocolate Stout.
