Greens not confident in Brighton

I don't get why people seem to want to criticise the Green manifesto so readily.

I don't believe in it 100% but as someone with socialist leanings I do think there are a lot of good ideas contained within and the reason they have my support is because I do genuinely believe in their principles.

I've lived in Conservative constituencies and under a Conservative government so I know first hand that I don't like it.

NOBODY before this election had ever lived under a British Green party MP, let alone a majority government, so condemning all those who've supported Dr Lucas and the party as "mentally ill" is frankly ludicrous.

If you didn't vote that way, so be it, but stop spewing forth the same ignorant muck about non-locals being behind the Green win and people voting to fit in.

It was a fair fight (despite the underhand episode of Ms Vere's ill advised flyering) and the Greens have won.

Move on

A wind poster? A horrible little man? But not a communist.

Wind as in the opposite of unwind. As in you are just trying to wind people up.

Your post on Thursday, after which I called you a horrible little man, was filled with hate for people you do not know or understand. So, I feel justified in that claim. If you would like to actually debate some of your points it would be interesting, however you will probably just continue labeling people as communists like a child.

*ahem* Likewise stop spewing the same old bollocks about Tory voters and Tory politicians then. This board has been chock full of absolute rage, innuendo, smear, downright lies and general hot air about the Tories. 50% of Sussex voters voted Tory. Your neighbour probably did. Get over it and stop being so f***ing smug about voting Green. Big f***ing deal. It's a democracy, people vote according to their conscience. Your political opinions are no more valid than the next persons, you arrogant twats.

And mention also to the underhand Labour tactics with the flyers at Withdean last home match AND some of the Green canvassers I've had at my door with their scare stories about Conservatives. No word of a lie, the night before the election, I had two canvassers at my door absolutely assure me that Tories would outlaw gay marriage, slash the NHS budget by 30%, forcibly remove asylum seekers, increase VAT to 25% and refuse benefits to all job seekers after 6 months.

Really, voting Green doesn't make you better than anyone else. Despite what you think.

No-one says it does, and I think you are mistaken for making that inference. And no-one (at least not on here) is being smug at the Green victory, apart from at Timmy, who is merely getting a taste of his own medicine.

Some people want to answer a charge that they're mentally ill, or that they're communists, or that they're deluded, or that they're common criminals, or that they can't think for themselves, or that they're not true Brightonians (that's the worst insult... :p) when they voted Green. That's all.
