Green is not good enough to play international football. He is a decent shot stopper, but he is not great on the high ball, which is why he gets overlooked.

If he was playing for Spurs, by default it probably should be Robinson, but unless he goes today, it will be difficult to pick a player who is collecting splinters for his club.

Of the English keepers, Kirkland is probably the best technically, however I do wonder how much the injuries have taken out of him.

Foster is still not featuring for Man U so that is him out.

Carson is certainly not ready, so that is him out, I would hope.

So it could well be old Calamity as a short term measure.

Once they are all fit and playing the 3 keepers should be (in no real order) Robinson, Kirkland and Foster.

Paul Robinson - too fat, not athletic enough
Scott Carson - looks more like Willie Carson in goal
Manual Almunia - nice idea but like Cudicini, it won't happen

It has to be David James for being a great goalkeeper in every respect
