Goal nets - Stanchions or ropes?

I hate these goals that have the net stretched by a bit of string that is tied to another post.

When teams score now. the ball comes rebounding out of the net faster than you can say "Oh, for chrissake Mayo/hammond/Kuipers (delete as apprpriate) etc

What was wrong with stanchions and balls nestling in the folds on yards of extranelous netting?

You should play hockey, there is a board about a foot high inside the goal...can't beat the sound of the ball thwacking off that.

Because the occasional shot would cannon back off the stanchion, and the dimwitted match officials would mistake this for the post, and not award the goal.

While I admit it's funny to watch goalkeepers fumbling about in the back of the net, this shouldn't be allowed to happen at the expense of actual goals.
