Didnt he have a club or hotel as there was something about an ex wife, a singer, in the papers a couple of years ago about drugs or something sinister I can't remember the details but seem to remember them saying he owned a country club or hotel or similar.

Dont think he owned a hotel or a club, but his home used to be a small hotel and it was bloody huge! He married the his ex wife, the singer, in the grounds. She went to prison for the drugs thing.

So I am not completely senile. When there was all the things of 96/97 he came and saw me in my pub on his way to Goodwood races and told me about his 1st wife being the daughter of an Ex BHA player and that he supported them in the 60s but I cannot remember who the player was I think he was a reserve who played for the 1st team on a few occassions.
