I am beginning to think that Wilkins knows sweet fa about football. If he is really is going to rely on El Ab in the midfield, we're doomed. Bertin to El Ab in one season. What a joke.

Our best run last season was coincided with Wilkins playing Hammond and pushing him forward and El-Abd playing as the Anchor man.

As soon as Bertin came in El-Abd got moved from RB to CB and all over the place and the team became unsettled.

Hammond will score goals. Our flair will come from Cox and another Right winger, whether it be Robinson or someone else so for god's sake give the team a chance.

The reason why we lost so many games last year wasn't down to the midfield, it was because our strikers couldn't score in a brothel!

El Abd is a natural defender who can tackle and win some of the balls in the air so he is the obvious man to play in the holding role just in front of the back four which will allow Hammond to play just behind the 2 strikers and get some goals. Our problem is creativity from the wingers Cox/Robinson. If we can sign a winger who can take on and beat the full back to get the crosses in for our strikers, before the season starts and a goalkeeper we will have a reasonably successful season I believe.

To play the midfield holding role you don't wan a 'flair' player you want someone who can win the ball break up play and pass it on to someone else to do all the creative stuff. El-Abd while not the best player will give it his all and could become quite a success in the role

This isn't good judgement by Wilkins. El-Abd will never create chances in the midfield, not even last season he didn't. All he is there for is to get the tackles in and win us back procession. Surely there must be someone on a freebie or a loanee can play in centre midfield.

I can see us struggling again............
