Apologies, this is an Olympics thread so if you don't like it, move on!

I've become quite interested in the GB progress and with the Russians closing in fast to be still in 3rd place on Saturday will be a huge achievement.

Hmm that BMX'er should win the gold, hopefully. But cant see us winning anymore Gold's after that, maybe nick one in the boxing. I expect Russia will overtake us soon in the medal table, but we should hold of Australia and Germany.

The BMXing actually starts at 2am our time (Women's Semis Heat 1) which involves Reade. The final is as you stated, 3:30am.

What about the Boxing? We still have three lively lads in play. Fourth would be an amazing performance. Look at France, Germany, Italy.......we're on the up.

Shunted off the course by someone French, in a manner rather reminiscent of Damon Hill being rear-ended by that cheese-eating surrender monkey Jacques Villeneuve.

Bah.

Canadians are cheese eating surrender monkeys? Wasn't it Schumacher who drove Hill off by turning into him rather than rear ending him. I think that the French are innocent in both instances, but nice bit attempt at rewriting of two bits of history

10m Diving with L'il Tom Daley at 1200 seems to be missing from the list at the top of the thread

just watched the BMX in the gym - how good is that? - takes me back to my youth except I was always weighed down with a luminous yellow bag of Evening Arguses
