FORTY NOTES HELPS SCOUTING
The Forty Notes Fund is once again asking Albion fans to help the club attract new players - but also contribute towards two revolutionary coaching aids which will help the current squad throughout the season.
Instead of the money raised going directly towards transfer fees or wages of new or loan players, funds will be spent on the scouting network database and also a new video coaching aid.
Scouting Network provides detailed analysis on upcoming opponents and individual professional players across the world. Strengths, weaknesses, recent performances, and a whole host of vital data on clubs and players is available to the club; giving Albion’s coaching staff much more information than would normally be obtained from the club's own scouts.
Video Coach provides in-depth video analysis of every first-team match, using a special camera that monitors individuals, tracks their performance and enables the coaching staff to further evaluate performances using specialist video software.
The cost to subscribe to both aids is in the region of £25,000 per season, and The Forty Notes Fund is aiming to raise this figure to provide the club with these two technological advancements during 2007/08 season.
Fans are being asked to take out a standing order to the Forty Notes Fund (not the club) for £10 per month to help contribute towards the cost.
Alan Wares of the Forty Notes Fund said; “We approached the club during the summer to see how we could help with the acquisition of new players, but this is a much better use of funds than our contributions being swallowed up into the black hole of transfer fees and wages. The Scouting Network will help the club identify the right transfer targets – and the Video Coach, which has proved very successful for other clubs, will enable the coaching staff to improve on existing methods. If we can attract 250 subscribers we will have achieved our goal.”
Albion boss Dean Wilkins added, “Thanks to the efforts of the Forty Notes Fund, hopefully we will have two vital advancements in place for the new season, which will help us in training, preparing for matches and to identify future transfer targets.”

The Forty Notes Fund has promised that the money will be used for the subscription only. All subscribers will receive a certificate of thanks and report on what their donations have bought.
