To be fair we are 20th in the league so is that really a surprise?
It's not were we are that bothers me most. It's were the teams below us are that gives me concern.

already looking like 4 from 7 will go down, so if a team or two below us make a good run we may be running out of teams we can finish above.

1 team always has a terrible 2nd half to the season and nose dives from midtable, we must just keep hoping. If we follow Cree's example we would be above midtable so there is still hope.

Well we managed it in 06/07, I can guarantee that won't happen this year. (Not being mid-table helps:lolol:)

at the end of the season I think that the following will be below us :

Leyton Orient, Yeovil, Hereford, Swindon possibly Southend as Revell is injured for the rest of the season and Freeman for 1 month. like us they will have problems scoring goals. Other than those listed the one to nose dive I think will be Northampton.

Southend's major problem is defence. There fans will even say that. They still have Barnard,Walker as forwards and a couple of others.
Love to see them go down more then any other club in that division.

I would say Leyton Orient are my bankers for relegation. I also think Cheltenham will go. There will be one team who drops from mid-table (either Southend or Walsall). Hereford, us, and Yeovil will then fight it out for the last spot.

Why? Orient should have beaten us at Withers. They also have sacked Ling. They are not that bad i don't think.

I thought that Orient were awful at Withdean and that was a game that we should have won, along with many others.
In the second half they were the only team who looked like nicking the winner. They were much better then us and that was a point gained.Same with Rovers they turned the game on it's head in the second half.

I was trying to think of something that could compare to this season and it just occurred to me, last season we very nearly made the play-offs, the very first time we did that (90/91) we were relegated the next season...if my memory isn't playing tricks on me...so it is possible to go from almost hero to zero.

Yeah, fair point. There is currently a gap of 5 points between Bristol Rovers in 17th and Swindon in 18th. Bristol Rovers have 29 points, so realistically they (and everyone above them) only need 20 points to be safe. As you say, there will probably be one team who doesn't manage it, but every team in that position SHOULD. Therefore, I'd say at least three of the current bottom seven will definitely be going down. Of that seven, I don't think Crewe will be one and I don't think Swindon under Danny Wilson will be one. I think we're one of the remaining five trying to avoid three or four spots. That's not good odds!

Why would you think that Swindon are more likely than us to be ok. They haven't got any money, and they haven't played well, what makes you think Wilson can do any more for them than Adams could do for us?

And I know that might sound like a daft question considering we have been shit a lot of the season, but Swindon aren't showing any signs of improvement yet?

hereford have to be a huge threat after beating oldham 5.0. crewe are turning themselves around too, cheltenham are an awful team and they will go. i think yeovill will join them. leyton orient and swindon have new managers and i fancy them to start picking up points.
