He was also an the world long jump record holder, an international 100-yard sprint champion, played football for Corinthians and for Southampton (including in the FA Cup Final of 1902), he played rugby for Oxford University, Blackheath and the Barbarians, he played cricket for England - and while captain, he never lost a match. He was a teacher at Charterhouse, he was a delegate to the League of Nations, and was offered the throne of Albania.

According to his relative, Stephen Fry on the BBC panel show QI, Fry was able, from a stationary position on the floor, to leap backwards onto a mantelpiece.

I remember seeing Proctor starting his run by pushing off the fence at the Pavilion End at Lords against Kent in a Benson & Hedges final - one of the most frightening bowlers I ever saw - it scared the crap out of the Kent batsmen.
