This is of course posturing but that doesn't mean it won't go ahead. The other big teams might well relish the thought of the championship without the red prats from Italy.
Also, there are number of other companies very interested in entering the arena as there have been suggestions there may be as many as 26 cars on the grid next year.

I suppose if Ferrari quit, they may take with them the other big teams and form their own racing championship which is what was threatened several years ago. Not necessarily ideal but it would be interesting to see how the poisoned dwarf reacted to that challenge to his authority!

Eddie Jordan said that the massive mobile villages cost £40m themselves to run!!

I can well believe it.
£40m in F1 terms is a drop in the ocean for the big teams, no wonder Ferrari are kicking off. The LAST thing they want is a level playing field.

Vodafone alone paid Ferrari £25m to have their sponsorship on the car.

£40m would barely cover the cost of a wing mirror on a Ferrari.

They won't have the money for a cheap wing mirror, the driver budgets are over £40m

They're throwing a hissy fit because they're pissed off at their lack of competitiveness (read: victories) this season.

Empty threat, they know damn well they'll be involved, and that FIA will bend over backwards to accommodate them.
