Being charged with 'improper conduct' for saying that "Howard Webb is England's best referee".
Much as I can't stand the red nosed old get, am I missing something?

Didn't a Liverpool player get a fine after they played Taggart's lot in the FA Cup earlier this season for Tweeting a picture of Howard Webb in a United shirt?
Oh so you're not allowed to praise a referee these days.

The bloke has been in the game long enough and should have known the rules by now. Also, I just don't understand why Webb is so highly rated and in charge of every big match, especially when his dodgy reffing decisions are always in favour of United and cost the Netherlands the world cup with a dreadful decision in which he gave a clear corner as a goal kick which Spain scored from, although the Netherlands were playing rough hacking down Spain's players.

He cost Netherlands the World Cup? He was f***ing lenient on them all game, if it'd been a European or South American ref they'd've only had seven players by the hour mark. As much as I was rooting for the underdog, Netherlands went into that game with one plan, to kick chunks out of Spain and hope they got a chance to take. It was one of the best refereeing performances I've seen, keeping a lid on the mayhem the dutch were creating.
I agree with the first bit of your post, but best refereeing performance? I wrote my post before I saw the subsequent replies, but, if Holland had won because Webb hadn't had the balls to send players off when he should have, I doubt he'd be getting any praise then. Dutchman Johan Cruyff said, and I agree, that Webb had no right to 'interpret' the rules as he saw fit just because it was a WC final. He should have just applied them. Which would have meant 2 red cards before half time.
