No pics. Cos I've never been there but so many Indian friends I have rate it.

Kerala's great, it's true, well worth a visit.

But for me it'd probably be Si Phan Don in southern Laos - lying in a hammock by the Mekong. Lovely.

Hols and/or have you lived there?

Way out west
Could quite easily go for some little heard of place on some remote island miles from anywhere, but there are so many different places I have visited that were magical for some reason or another, a couple of them already mentioned on this thread. I will go for Maastricht in the Netherlands, which I reckon is fairly realistic, it is a bustling cosmopolitain city with easy access to a fair chunk of Northern Europe and I have enjoyed pretty much every minute I ever spent there. The town centre is excellent in every respect, good shops, restaurants and bars and the locals are pretty chilled out too.

Oh how I'd love to be there right now!

I'm not sure you would. Haven't they been having the most awful weather, landslides, etc? I think a lot of people booked there have been cancelling their trips.

A dam burst and killed a load of people. Last I heard it had rained for about five straight weeks. Hopefully it has stopped now.

Went there a couple of years ago while travelling - it's a bit remote, but one of the most peaceful places I've ever been, just huts, hammocks and the river. We went down through Laos north-south, but you could get there quicker by going in from Thailand I expect. It's right at the bottom of the country, not far from the Cambodian border.

Can't narrow it down to one particular favourite. For a town/city, probably one from:

Verona
Siena
Porto
New York, NY
Oaxaca, Mexico
Perth (Australia, not Scotland)
Bangkok
Hong Kong
Mahabalipuram, India
Calcutta (or whatever the pc name for it is now)
Istanbul
Xiahe, China
Yangshuo, China
Luang Prabang, Laos
Banos, Ecuador

Favourite place, possibly one of:
Bako National Park, Sarawak
Peyto Lake, Canada
Kanha NP, India
Monteverde Cloud Forest, Costa Rica
Tortuguero NP, Costa Rica
Rara Avis, Costa Rica
The Annapurnas, Nepal
Mt Kinabalu, Sabah
Sigiriya, Sri Lanka
The banks of the Mekhong west of Nong Khai, Thailand
Asa Wright, Trinidad
or The Scottish Highlands
or the good old English Lake District
or possibly somewhere else...

Too tricky to narrow it down to just one place. High on the list would be Cape Town, Bangkok, Colorado, Etosha, Kho Pan Ngan.
One place I will always remember is Victoria Falls, awesome site.
