I seem to recall Zamora being a bit of an offside specialist.

Murray obviously needs to work on it, but I'm sure he's more aware of the rules that a fan funnily enough.

when it is a different linesman every week making the same decisions every week, it makes you think that maybe there is something wrong with the amount of times he gets into offside positions

unless of course all the officials are in league with each other and its a MASSIVE conspiracy that brightons glen murray HAS to be offside every game....

It's yet ANOTHER classic example of where the South Stand has to teach the manager what to do e.g bring on Jakey after 70 minutes, SHOOOOOOT from a free-kick on the edge of the box etc etc...

In this case, its 'Make Glen Murray practice - on the training ground preferably - not being offside'

Jeez

I wasn't at Leeds, granted, due to a rather unfortunate combination of circumstances.

But I like Glenn Murray.

He's wholehearted, gets in the positions, and even when he's missed a few, is never afraid to keep on having a go. Which means he'll score eventually.

How many strikers have we had over the years who haven't even got in the positions to score? And perhaps the fact that Forster is now on a roll again is down to Murray taking the pressure off. Leave the bloke alone, he's quality and he'll come good.

Unintelligent cliches?

Sorry, but give me Murray over (say) Revell every time.

What do you want for £300k from Rochdale? Wayne Rooney?

At this level, you have to accept that you're not going to get the perfect striker.

You either sign a proven player who's getting on a bit (ie Forster)

Or you sign a younger lad with a few rough edges who has the potential to develop but won't necessarily threaten the England side. ie Murray.

I suppose there is a third option, which is to sign someone who is relatively young AND crap. But I'm hoping we don't get any more of them for a while. We've had more than our fair share over the years.

murray is far better than alex and although not finding the net to much in march has still contributed winning a couple of pens, working his socks off and making room for forster amongst others to create chances.
it was frustrating on saturday can't ever remeber such a large percentage of moves halted by the flag even though he regulary gets caught offside that was ridiculous.see scotty macs point about the different officials but i find it so hard to believe that we were offside everytime the flag went off

AS FOR THE WILKINS OUT BRIGADE WHY?

we are 2 points off the play off's with 6 games left and a game in hand! what the hell do people expect?

Im going to give you the benefit of the doubt here because you haven't seen the wide video our performance analyst shoots from the gantry, because we have and some of the offsides given against us yesterday were scandalous, including one when Muzza got into the box in the second half and was pushed for a nailed on penalty only to be given offside when he was on by a good yard. And Coxy who broke clear on the halfway line only to be given off when he was three yards on, or in the first half when Coxy again was given off when he started his run in our half.

So you know what you can do with your rules lesson..........send it to the f***ing lino pal and the ref.

So which player are you then? I agree the Cox decision was scandalous, even from the corner flag that looked miles onside.

at home
being in the main stand for the second half, and reading brightonbear's comments and listening to DW, I feel I must make a visit urgently to the opticians.

Yes Coxy was unfortunate twice, one ball actually came off a leeds player and he should not have been called, however, I stick by my point that I was expecting Murray to have a bit of nous about him in the second half. Leeds played very close to the half way line and the times he was stood offside just watching what was going on , it was very frustrating. I cannot understand why players do not look along the line at the last defender.

It must be just as frustrating to the defence and midfield who play good balls through only for the strikers not anticipating where defenders are.

I am not sure where wilkins got the idea that the goal was not offside...he looked 5 yards off from where I was.
