An astounding display of delaying tactics...

9. The Secretary of State has also considered a request dated 9 May 2007 by Earthrights Solicitors on behalf of Falmer Parish Council to re-open the Inquiry. However, the Secretary of State has taken the view that it is not necessary to re-open the Inquiry having regard to all the information before her.

They are despicable maggots. As has been proven time and again-confirmed by this.

Mmm, interesting that nobody knew about that one until now!! Absolute arse bandits, and they are doing it because they knew we were going to get a yes again.

Still, the line refusing a new enquiry does tend to rhyme with "don't be so f***ing ridiculous!!".:wave:

Doesn't football season correspond with their vacations in the West Indies?

Not sure if this has appeared anywhere;

Lewes MP Norman Baker said:'I am obviously disappointed but not surprised
by the decision.

'I think the district council was absolutely right to take the line it did.

'There was a matter of planning protocol to be sought here - when you
dedicate an area to be protected you cannot just allow the first applicant
that comes along to build on it.

'However, we are where we are and as far as I am
concerned the final whistle has been blown and there is no room for extra
time, we have to get on with it and make the best of it.'

Sussex Express.

This has been in the Argus;

From The Argus

NORMAN BAKER, Lib Dem MP for Lewes, has been a long-standing opponent of the
stadium.

He said he does not believe the anti-stadium lobby should mount a further
legal challenge.

He said: "I'm disappointed, but not surprised at the decision.

"I'm sure there is scope for further action, and that's up to anybody who
wants to take action in the courts.

"But as far as I'm concerned we should call it a day."

He is still a complete bastard though, mealy mouthed little shit.

I would be surprised if Falmer Parish Council weren't at this very minute wondering whether Ruth Kelly's refusal to re-open the Inquiry was grounds for an appeal to the High Court.

What grounds did they use to try and reopen it?

Rather frustratingly, I was down at Donatello's today when Parcel Force tried to deliver a package of papers from the DCLG that included a copy of Falmer PC's letter dated 9 May. They left a card, promising to deliver the package tomorrow.

I'll be able to answer that question when I've read their letter.

I am probably going to regret asking this but why were they delivering a pile of papers from DCLG to an Italian restaurant? :)

My mistake for not making myself clear. I blame the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.

They were trying to deliver the papers to Bracknell Towers, not Donatello's. I was out.

I would imagine they left a card because no-one was in, due to the fact that Lord B was at Donatellos.
