Wonder if there are two versions…..’gol’ being used when he scores obviously

Yeah, that's Bambino Pons, he's the main commentator of Premier League matches in Argentina (and some of Latin America).

He makes up a song for every single goal he commentates so there's a song for probably almost every other goal Brighton's scored in the Premier League.
For Buonanotte's next goal he'll probably make up a new one (although he does repeat sometimes). They're usually based on actual songs.

(His most famous one is probably one for a Scholes goal from like the mid 2000s)

Here's for example, his song for Pedro's 4th (I think the video should work everywhere, but I'm not sure):

this is going to sound a bit silly, but watch the video and maybe it could change your view.

In the video it focusses on a part of his game that never really stuck in my head from watching him play - he really seems to be able to pick pockets and break up play. Maybe we have him in the wrong position. If he could get the rolling around on the floor out of his game, he could be the quality DM we've been looking for since Caicedo left.
(obvious caveats about youtube videos not being the full picture of the player)

I've certainly noticed him defensively more in the last few games. Don't see him as a DM from that but he's certainly chipping in a fair share of ball winning.
You can make the case that he could be like MacAllister in that he'd be an attacking midfielder with enough defensive capability not to be found if playing further back with more of a destroyer, and he could certainly drive forward from there effectively. Not sure of the balance with our current other options to be one of the two. Baleba the most complementary option should be progress.
Anyhow he's just a wonderful footballer and now he's better acclimated to the physicality of the PL could certainly do a job in any midfield position.
Oh and he doesn't have to cut out the theatrics even if we'd like him to. The Argies have a fine history of being able to be brutal footballers while still occasionally getting shot by a sniper.

I think the tenacity has been on show since day one but I'm slightly sceptical that he's cut out to be a DM. Certainly he could play as an 8 though. In fact, it's quite likely that he'll move between the 8/10 role imo.

To some extent he'd be wasted any deeper, wouldn't he?

That's a great highlights video. He has really improved a lot this season, I think next season he'll be given a lower squad number and be considered as part of our 'ideal' starting 11.

I think there's something in what you say. Given the choice, I'd rather he didn't play there yet, but maybe a few years down the line. As you say, he certainly needs to cut out the diving/rolling. But in this extended run in the team, what's really stood out (so you're not changing my view) is his pressing: he leads the press within the whole team, and is really in your face with it.
He needs to bulk out a bit and understand the requirements of the role more, but he might actually prefer -- benefit might be a better word -- playing there as it will allow him to dictate the play and pace of the game more.

Although in fairness it appears we spent more on Bounanotte than Man U did on Garnacho.

What a player Facundo is going to be in 2-3 years time though.
