They’ll have a good clear picture of the palace thugs who tore down the banners then. A good news story.

As i went through west stand upper Steward remarked " mate you need to take the shades off as we use facial recognition ". It wasn't the politest request so I didn't oblige. More importantly I didn't have " shades " as they were my normal glasses that have the photochromic lenses that darken in sunlight. Crucially this has never been raised as an issue before. Don't get me wrong I'm all for anything that keeps me safe but just how do their idiots get flares in.

Going in to WSU there were signs and the stewards also asked everyone to remove hats because there was facial recognition technology being used. I imagine that this happened at all turnstiles to the ground.
I asked a steward what it was for and he said that some folks who had been banned had continued to attend games. This didn't seem a very likely rationale to me.

Has anyone seen anything from the club on this, or have any idea what it was all about ?

No, it was to check you weren't hiding anything under your headwear ...

Well it certainly didn't help to identify the palace scum letting off the smoke bombs so they could be ejected and handed over to the OB did it?

But then we know the club's attitude is that away fans can do what they want but us loyal home fans can get in deep shit for taking in a bottle top.

But will anything come of it?

How many banning orders were issued when they broke into the ground, assaulted stewards and let off flares and fireworks? Does anybody have an update?

I also noticed the police were stood on the station footbridge with what looked like some sort of sophisticated camera gear so might have been doing something similar there.
I get the impression if it kicks off these days they let it play out and raid all involved at a later day, after tracking on their recording equipment.

Can't Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood pay for their own tickets?

You're on fire today.

The smoke bombs are small enough to hide in their socks. The smell is enough to put the sniffer dogs off.

Palace bring their own stewards to the game, so their searches are maybe not as rigorous as they could be?

agreed - there was a steward at NS entrance (not one of the regulars) who was extremely rude to hat / cap wearers going in. I hadn't seen any pre-publicity about headwear having to be removed and from the fans reactions, very few, if any, had.

Baffling.

I strongly suspect this was used in a targetted fashion. I had a hat and glasses on when I got to the entrance and was not asked to remove them. But we use the same entrance every game and the stewards all know me, my mate and our boys.

There was a big **** off drone hovering in the field beside the walkway from the station to the stadium. No idea if it was a police one but it was pretty big and hovering very low

That would be for testing the speed of the early leavers.

Wouldn’t happen in league 1. Just grateful someone turned up. My mate was banned for a while in league 1 and never missed a game.
I done the same aswell

It was very low and I had the overwhelming urge to have a catapult to hand to take it down :)

Going in to the north i am often asked to take my hat off when going through the turnstiles.

my brothers cap flew off during the game on Saturday in East Upper, and spent 30 seconds flying around, it was the most excitement we had during the game to be honest !
