Fabric Sails

On some of the planning pics that I have seen I have seen 'fabric sails' on the corners of the stands.

Are they wind deflectors? Are they actually fabric or some other material?

The sails were on the original design but have now been replaced with accoustic walling to reduce the amount of noise going out of stadium.
