Ever won a bet when you truly didn't want to?

Last night I had one bet on the game.

A mahoosive 2 quid on Brighton ht / scum ft at 70 ( 69/1 ) via Betfair.

After commision a profit of £131.24 for the bettors amongst us.

I only did this because I thought the price was too big considering our last two first half performances had to change, and our gift of conceding in the final minutes.

Normally if someones wins a nice wedge for a tiny stake, they'd be jumping around.

Never in my life have I won a bet that I didn't want to come in, and I hated it.

The only solace is that I'll be going to Watford with my boy on the back of it, and I'll be giving a tenner to the REMF.

Anyone else on here won a bet / money that they truly and honestly didn't want to?

Yes. The day my dads horse won after breaking a leg during the race. It felt like blood money, sickening.

£20 on Palace (Draw no bet) @ 10/3.
I was absolutely gutted but a return of £86.67 helped ease the pain somewhat.

The guy sat behind me had Palace to win and Murray to score. £10 at 50/1

Tell him:moo:then.

There was no way that a scum win and gm to score anytime was 50/1.

I'd put my hat with the jingles on it.

You do realise that Little T is playing this week, and you know who he supports?

We have to group together................

A superb example of why I could never, ever, place a bet against Brighton. What was this bloke cheering for at 1-2? An equaliser from us, or £500 and defeat?

I had Murray to score first/last goal @ 8/1 and to score anytime @ 9/4. Only small bets, and had bigger bets on Barnes, but the Murray bets were an ackowledgement that former players always come back to bite you on the bum. Them's the rules.

I think he saw it as insurance.
I didn't know during the match that he bet against us but he wanted us to win.
At the end he turned to his mate and goes "on the bright side, i won 500 quid" with a grin on his face.

What he said. 50/1 for that sounds very unlikely

My Palace supporting colleague tells me that a Palace fan had £2 on CMS to score 1st and Palace to win 3-1 @ 270/1 !

A palace fan posted their Bet365 page on Twitter after winning that bet, so looks like it was true.

I mentioned the other day that I was gonna open some new betting accounts, put the deposited stakes on Palace to win and then lay the free / matched bets on Betfair meaning if we won or drew I would not lose anything.

It took about three hours of faffing but I did it as a bit of an experiment.

I won £885 on Tuesday. It lessened the blow a bit.
