Wow never been watching a game when it was stopped for lightning before!

VAR will only overturn if it’s clear and obvious. For my money while not being a foul it was a debatable decision therefore perfectly correct to leave it to the on-field official (even if he is shit)
Oh come off it, they say that’s how they use VAR, but they often disregard that and overturn unclear and unobvious goals and penalties.

Only a British ref. He’ll be getting his light metre out next

Seen footage of people being struck in a couple of African games. But this is a big stadium which would surely minimise the risk?

I’d rather watch more of the storm than some unscheduled Roy Keane TBH

Sensible decision, give it 10/15 minutes and if no improvement postpone the game until a later date.

With all the electronic in the stadium, could cause a lot of problems if the storm is bad enough

Wouldn't happen in England.
Yeah, imagine a sport in England where they stop because of a bit of rain.

So who’s looking forward to Wimbledon this week? Any thought on the test match squad for tomorrow?

Anyone remember the increasingly desperate filling in done by Adrian Chiles and Gabriel Thingummy on a previous tournament's rain delay?

The fans can all stay there and get electrocuted though

Surely someone has invented some sort of tech to deal with this
